Oil Separators

Contaminated fuel is the leading cause of engine damage. With modern low-sulfur fuels and cat fines becoming a major issue, the efficiency of your oil separator is non-negotiable. At Welcome Marine, we don't just paint old units; we completely remanufacture them to ensure they can handle the G-forces required for effective separation.

We source our separators from vessels arriving at Alang. Unlike other machinery, separators are often in excellent condition as they are kept in dedicated purifier rooms. We select only the latest models (Alfa Laval S-Type, Westfalia OSD) that are compatible with modern automation systems.

Our 6-Step Reconditioning Process

• 1. Complete Dismantling: The entire unit is stripped down. The bowl assembly, vertical shaft, horizontal shaft, and friction clutch are separated.
• 2. Chemical Cleaning: Stainless steel bowl discs are chemically cleaned to remove sludge and carbon deposits, ensuring the disc stack compression is correct.
• 3. Bowl Balancing: The most critical step. The bowl body, hood, and disc stack are dynamically balanced to prevent vibration at high speeds (8,000+ RPM).
• 4. Gearbox Overhaul: Worm gears and worm wheels are inspected for wear. Bearings are replaced with SKF/FAG equivalents.
• 5. Motor & Automation Test: The electric motor is megger tested. The control panel (EPC 50/60) is powered up and simulated for alarm functions.
• 6. Test Bench Run: The assembled unit is run on our test bench for 4-6 hours to monitor vibration, temperature, and amperage draw.
