Our proximity to Alang allows us to secure low-running-hour engines from vessels that are being retired due to age limits or market conditions, not mechanical failure. This means we often source standard-size crankshafts and liners with 80%+ remaining lifecycle.

Crankshaft Reconditioning Protocol

  • 1. Deflection & Run-out Analysis: Before removal from the vessel, we measure web deflections to ensure the shaft hasn't been stressed. In the workshop, we check run-out on V-blocks to 0.01mm accuracy.
  • 2. Magnaflux (MPI) Testing: Every journal and pin is subjected to Magnetic Particle Inspection to detect surface and sub-surface micro-cracks that are invisible to the naked eye.
  • 3. Hardness Testing: We verify that the journal hardness is within OEM limits (typically 250-300 HB) to ensure compatibility with new bearings.
  • 4. Polishing & Lapping: Journals are polished to a mirror finish (Ra < 0.2) to ensure optimal oil film formation and reduce bearing wear.
  • 5. Class Certification: For all major components, we invite surveyors from Class NK, Lloyds, or BV to witness the final dimensional inspection and stamp the component.

90% of our stock is Standard Size. We specifically select engines that have not undergone grinding. However, we also stock some undersize shafts (0.5mm / 1.0mm) for specific older models where standard is unavailable.
Yes. For critical items like Crankshafts, Connecting Rods, and Engine Blocks, we can arrange for a Class Surveyor (NK, Lloyds, BV, RINA) to witness the inspection and issue a certificate before dispatch.
Yes. We regularly export complete gensets (Yanmar 6N18, Daihatsu DK-20). We skid-mount them on steel beams, wrap them in VCI foil, and ship them in Open Top containers or Flat Racks.
